What Members Thought
I had to read this book for a post-colonial lit class, and it left me with mixed feelings. I have to give credit to the writer, especially since she supposedly wrote it when she was 16-17 (???). Not only was it a significant work since it was one of the first published novels, and she made her living as a writer, but also it dealt with the subject of slavery well before anybody else thought of dealing with it.
