This was a really good read!! It's about a Jewish girl who locks her brother in a cupboard to save him from French police (round up for the Nazis). Very well written. And I enjoyed the style of going back and forth between the little girl and a journalist.
This is a historical fiction. I had no idea about the Vel' d’Hiv’ roundup, so it was interesting and sad. And to think we still have pathetic human beings doing this to others.

the first half of this book was really good. maybe even 4 star level. then it fell into melodrama. what a disappointment. Julia's irrational and impulsive behavior was a little hard to swallow. No one can tell me that they didn't know the name of the baby WAY before it was revealed. oh please the Lucy ploy was lame.
