After spending an almost year in South America (mainly Colombia but I also touched down in Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil) I came to the conclusion that the amazing continent is always trying to kill you. If it's not the oppressive heat, it's the poisonous plants or wildlife, or the tumultuous landscapes, etc. Holly and her husband found this to be true as they spent nearly a month stranded on a raft in a swampy river jungle.
