What Members Thought
I might have enjoyed this more had I not already read American Dirt. I loved everything about American Dirt and it was hard not to compare the two books. This one is non fiction and Dirt is fiction. Both have as the main character a young boy who is trying to get to the United States and who must endure a difficult and dangerous journey to get there. Solito uses Spanish phrases on every page and tells the story totally from a 9 year old's perspective. I found neither of these totally successful
