‘I choose joy over despair not bc I have my head in the sand, but bc joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.’

Wow. This book taught me so much about indigenous people’s culture and history as well as American ecology, and as sad as it was at times, it preaches so much hope.

The ‘Windigo Footprints’ chapter should be required reading for every American.
