I liked this, especially the premise of it, but I did not love it like a lot of my friends. I was confused by the main character. She seemed to be very into traveling and experiencing life as a young child, open to different cultures and religions, but after she makes the deal, she is pretty boring for 300 years. Also, why did she stay in such Western cultures? The entire world is hers! She honestly didn't do much, and the parts of history covered were surprisingly dull....hanging out in Paris s

Don't pray to the Old Gods after dark. A warning that Addie didn't heed (I don't think that's a spoiler), and set herself on a path she hadn't anticipated. This book took a little while to get going, then became really interesting, and finished a little disappointingly, I thought. But the bit in the middle is worth reading it for, and what an interesting premise to play with- Addie learns creative ways around her dilemma.

The ending dragged as the timeline kept shifting away from resolution.
The premise of this book was imaginative. The beginning held out hope but after that I just wanted to get through it. I'll remember this one but it just didn't work for me. Deals with the devil and curses just aren't my thing.

Sensational. The writing is beautiful. The story is magical. It spans centuries and takes you on a journey of magic, love, friendship, and the meaning to be human. Read it.
