Beautifully written and interesting. I haven't read a book quite like this one yet, which is a nice surprise. I enjoyed the premise, the characters and the settings. Highly recommended.

I'm a fan of historical fiction/time-travel/magic stories, so this seemed like a no-brainer to read. (And it reminded me of the opposite fate of a movie I really enjoyed, The Age of Adaline). Like other reviewers have mentioned, some of the beginning was a bit slow, but I'm glad I stuck with it (I had a hard time putting it down!). The story works very well in the Audiobook version and the reader really added colour and texture to the different personas. I agree that it might have been overlong and boring in the print version.
The premise and scope adds colour and interest to the events, but I do not see that there is much character development there. Addie, even after 300 years of life, remains largely the same, defiant and headstrong, not that this is necessarily a bad thing, it just is.
