The author has a very descriptive writing style, but by stretching the story out with multiple pov's (which was fine for a while) and going back and forth between war years and post war years, finally became irritating and the climax where all is revealed, very disappointing and a little too pat and tidy. By going back and forth, the drama and the interest in the character is diluted and ultimately diminished.
