An incredibly interesting concept with a good storyline to back it up, I wasn't quite as fond of the writing style. It's always difficult to pinpoint what, exactly, rubs me wrong in a translated work, whether it was the fault of the author or just a language quirk that doesn't quite land the same way in English. Overall, I enjoyed the story but wasn't wowed by it and probably won't seek out further books by Kawaguchi.
