This book was really beautiful to read and told a story I knew very little about. The focus is on the French colonization of Algeria and the aftermath told through 3 generations of 1 family. It is a deep look at the lasting impact of colonization and how that can tear a place apart. In addition it is also how each generation relates to this place or the roots of their family. What Algeria means to the family that isn't there any more and how much is it a part of them. I really recommend this boo
