This is a deeply moving novel that blends love, loss and the tumultuous political landscape of 1950s Iran. While the novel succeeds in its emotional depth , it falls short in exhibiting the rich Iranian culture, with focus mainly on personal narrative. Good storytelling and historical setting makes it a decent read.
