Disappointing Read 2020
This was way overhyped. I kept listening to see how the author would deal with the inevitable hard decisions to be made but what she chose to do was such a disappointment. In the end it felt like there was no real point to the story at all.
I felt the audiobook didn't do a very good job at making me feel like I was in Nigeria as it sounded like the accents kept changing location geographically and that made it hard to tell which character was speaking.

ah, family bonds. Ties, tethers, handcuffs, chains.... family sometimes means losing all sense of reason, compassion and truth.
Three and A Half Stars
I wish we could give half stars...This is a quick read and good distraction from the news of the day. Two sisters in Lagos -one is a serial killer and one is head nurse at her hospital. There is more about cleaning than gore, so don't let the thought of that put you off this book. It will make you wonder, does a big sister ever stop feeling responsible for a little sister? How does birth order impact how people deal with family dysfunction?
