This was a really, really amazing novel about a Korean woman, who as a widow, immigrated alone to Los Angeles. It is told mostly in present day by her adult daughter Margot (who had been embarrassed by and somewhat estranged from her immigrant, single mother, Mina Lee) but also is narrated in flashbacks about Nina as a young woman through her current time period. Oh! Oy! Hard to read but....big but...it is unputdownable.
