I have to give this book 4 stars and not 5. I have been waiting to read it for ages, having found it on so many lists of recommended books, and finally got a copy from the library. But how many bad things can happen to one person? How bad can one's blood family be? How many times can you bite your lips until they bleed? There were some wonderful moments as well, but then.... the ending. Really? Why would she do that? It defies belief- and ok this is a novel but it seemed to go against everything
