I was casting about for a short thriller and having heard good things about the writer's other books and being intrigued by the late-1970s Mexican setting, figured I'd give it a try. The story revolves around teenage Viridiana (named after the Bunuel film), who lives in a very sleepy seaside town in rural Baja.
