This is an excellent story of a young woman who goes to the Champagne region of France for her boss, with the intention of getting contacts in the champagne industry. She meets a woman on the plane, and that meeting changes her life. The woman has a series of letters written during World War I, and they have a connection to the very place where both women are staying. There is much happening in this novel, and it is evocative of much of French history, in both positive and negative ways.
