I'd like to give this a little higher rating but in the end, it was so predictable. The writing is taut and exciting, the story of a young woman, a misfit in US society, who steals enough money to fly to Bolivia, the original home of her late foster mother. The teaching job she expects to find evaporates and she survives by working with a couple of other "lost girls" in a hostel, cooking and cleaning.
