Some very profound and thought provoking sentences/ideas in this book, but way too long and meandering. Generations that interweave throughout, so many characters that it's hard to keep track of who is descended from whom. By the time the end came I had forgotten what the beginning of the book was about. No one to really connect with, and a bit of "magical realism" thrown in. I did really like some chapters but grew bored with others. So 4 stars for the ones I really liked and 2 stars for the ot ...more
