Wow. Okay. I have an emo-hangover now. I'm trying to parse why: There is no huge plotsy cliffhanger twist or anything, but this book still was a gut-wrencher in the end. I won't say any more about that in order to avoid spoilers; just be aware that's the emotional register you're signing up for when you dive into this one. Personally, I did not think a book about two young people coming of age while having a very complex relationship would affect me all that much. I stand corrected!

Maybe even a 4.5, I found the strange main characters so endearing somehow.
"Can I cum in your mouth" is not great, award-winning literature.
