***⭐️rounded up. Another WWII novel but this time about some strong women who fly and bomb the Nazi’s. I did the Audio and would recommend this as a written copy because it switched back n forth between chapters and got confusing. Still worth it.

I'd watch the TV show on this!

As usual, Kate Quinn delivered. Engaging characters, intriguing theme, vivid settings.. Those are her strengths and all showed up in this book. It is a bit too long, but still a page turner. There are not many twists and turns, but the tension was building up along the book, and I love most of the characters here, especially Jordan, who is smart and not a typical damsel in distress.

This was a pleasant, lighter historical fiction read. The technique of alternating narrators with each chapter is jumpy, especially early in the book, but the chapters flow more smoothly in the second half. Nina is by far the most interesting character; she could be an interviewee out of Svetlana Alexievich's "The Womanly Face of War" (a book I *loved*). So good! A dark thriller with a fascinating historical plot. What do a Russian bomber pilot (a Night Witch), Nazi hunters and a young woman from Boston have in common? They are all chasing the same enemy, a Nazi predator escaping detection. This book was amazing, hard to put down, beautifully written with characters you grow to love. Highly recommend!
