am going to be brutally honest here. When I first started this book I was not very impressed. The first couple of chapters felt rather saccharine, predictable and the characters felt somewhat two dimensional. I did not have high hopes. However, once the aptly named Sunshine appears in the story all that changed.

Forty years ago Anthony Peardew lost something from his deceased fiancee that he vowed he would keep forever and ever since then he has been collecting lost items. Upon his death his secretary Laura inherits his house and his wish that Laura reunite as many of the lost items with their owners as possible. Laura is joined by the handsome gardener Freddy and a young neighborhood woman Sunshine who has downs syndrome. The book also has chapters told by Eunice who is a secretary to a book publisher
