This was an incredibly powerful story about love and loss. It is so beautifully written, almost like poetry, and it is set in England and France. I read this on audiobook and the narrator made it enjoyable and seamless. It’s my first novel by Sarah Winman.

Wow, this book was good. It tells the story of two boys who are friends/lovers, and the woman one of them marries as an adult. The grief, love, and heartbreak of the characters was so palpable with every sentence. I was completely emotionally invested in the characters and I wanted to know more about them and what happened in some of the intervening years that weren't covered in the book.
