I want to like this book more, actually. The story is so inspiring especially because it's based on true events. But somehow - the way Morris writes the book couldn't capture my heart. It's heartbreaking, sure, and lots of tragic moments (it's a holocaust story!)- but I lost the real, genuine voice in this book. I am rating this book on the basis of its being a work of fiction, because it is my understanding that the family claims the author got a lot of details (including the spelling of our hero’s name) wrong.
