น่าจะเป็นหนังสือเล่มแนว true crime เล่มที่สองที่เคยอ่าน (เล่มแรกคือ Helter Skelter) หนังสือโดยรวมกล่าวถึงประวัติและชีวิตของผู้เขียนอย่าง John E. Douglas ซะมากกว่า ส่วนพวกคดีอะไรนั่นเป็นส่วนสั้นๆ เหมือนสรุปย่อยมากกว่าเจาะลึก ส่วนใหญ่จะเน้นไปที่วิธีคิดของฆาตกรในแต่ละคดี เข้าใจว่าคนเขียนพยายามแสดงภาพให้เห็นโดยรวม ทำให้เขาดึงนู่นนี่มา และไม่ได้น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจอะไรขนาดนั้นเท่าไหร่ในฐานะคนที่เคยอ่านคดีเหล่านี้มาบ้างแล้วตามบทความนู่นนี่ เขาเน้นเจาะไปที่ตัวฆาตกร อีกจุดนึงคือเราไม่ค่อยเห็นคือการพัฒนาวิธีก ...more

Shelves: lives-of-people, non-fiction, history, true-crime, z-2020-read

Cool to learn about Douglas's background, the genesis of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, and some of the cases he consulted on. If you've watched "Mindhunter" on Netflix, this book will give you get a lot of insight into what they put on the show--minus the fictionalized personal dramas. I gotta say though, I think John Douglas is John Douglas's #1 fan. ...more
