What Members Thought
I feel such a lightweight for giving this 3 stars, but honestly I struggled with it. I had 3 false starts before I knuckled down and got past the first 50 pages, then had to sit with an ever-growing list of characters next to me with diagrams showing how they knew each other. Drabble writes so well, her wide-ranging knowledge of literature, sardonic humour, and sheer cleverness shine through, that I felt I should be more excited by this book. There is no plot, the book's strength rests entirely
