I started this, and was like...really? There has to be a dog? And now I'm like...more dog please! Ok more about writing too because so smart. Parts of this felt like smart woman authors who don't believe in plot anymore which seems to have become popular recently but also a commonplace book that I could read forever as it is added onto. This touched something true in life in so many different levels.

A fantastic exploration of love, loss, grief, writing, and caring for an enormous dog in a tiny apartment. One of my favorite reads of 2018 so far.
This is a poignant little book that tells a story about friendship, love and grief. A friendship between two writers, a friendship between a woman and a dog. It's all so quiet, without any climax and conflict whatsoever, but strangely very enjoyable and really touching. I can't actually describe the formula that Nunez used in writing this book - part memoir, part writing tips? and of course - lots of dog stories. But it's successfully touched me.
