I found this book to be a rather interesting read. I know several of the reviews I read prior to reading the book thought there was no point to the book, but I disagree. It was a book that caused the reader to do some self reflection. The premise of silence during their retreat lead to a natural evolution to hearing the characters inner voices without seeming out of context. This one was easy to put down and sometimes I found myself exhausted from reading. Not exactly sure why. maybe it was the jumping around with characters who were exhausting and their exhausting lives. The twelve characters that each neatly displayed twelve contemporary issues that were exhausting. meh. I found the story to be superficial as well as the writing. Not sure what the big deal is about this writer. It read like a Made-for-TV movie.

This was an alright book from Moriarty, it meandered a little too aimlessly for my taste. I was not sure whether there was a plot I was supposed to be following and kept missing. But it was still a sweet journey for most of the characters. My main issue came from having to jump over about 12 POVs all through the book, many of which were difficult to sympathize with or just plain crazy (a.k.a. Masha!).
