Beautiful and heartfelt memoir
Dani Shapiro’s discoveries about her family are told in a gutsy, honest and heartfelt manner. Her writing is so well done. I enjoyed much of the science and historical aspects of her research on DNA, infertility, and donors over the past 45 years. She opened her life and its secrets to the public, which is a very, very bold and brave act. 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this. It's only 250 pages, reads quickly, and I liked that it included historical context, is interspersed with insightful questions, and the author finds gradual acceptance.
