Borrowed this ebook from the library--and ended up not finishing (was at 79%) before it was due back/taken. I was then "on hold" forever to get it back, as it's quite popular. Amazing story/memoir from a Korean-American girl who was adopted by rural white folks in eastern Washington state. It is quite the journey of discovery, as the author traces life back to her roots, even as she is growing her own family. A debut book that holds out promise for some more future good writing.

As an adoptee who was reunited with her own birth parents relatively late in life, I am grateful to this author for telling her story. Though mine was not a transracial adoption, I strongly identified with much of what she writes, especially her descriptions of what it feels like to be severed from your roots and then, as a new mother, to experience a sense of belonging and connection for the first time.
