A bit preachy in some part - but turned out this book was published by a Christian publishing company - hence the more preaching approach. But the religious values are very subtle, so this book is still general enough to be read not as a Christian novel.

This one started slow and I nearly set it aside but the literary references, Beatrix Potter, Jane Austen and, of course the Brontës, kept me reading and I’m so glad I did! A great story of self reflection, complicated families, and resilience, I’ll be thinking about this one for a while and want to plan a trip to the UK!
