A family find itself on the wrong side of the divide and must make a long and dangerous journey to flee their home in what is now Pakistan. Half-Muslim (maternal side), half-Hindu (paternal side) 12-year-old Nisha details her plight in her diary addressed to her mother who died during Nisha and her twin brother Amil's birth.
