This was a lot of fun, a very engaging story, and definitely better than the first book in the series. We get a look at the world outside Dinétah in this volume.

Things I liked:
* Girl power to the max! Maggie travels with a variety of people, and each time a group forms, it is a majority women, without ever making a big deal about that. Maggie, Ben, Rissa are the core group. Nice.
* Characters behave consistently.
* Characters are complex, no one is purely bad or purely good.

Maggie is a badass. Ben is cute. Liked the story and the new settings and the reappearances of characters. A bunch of typos, not the author’s fault but kind of detracted.
