What Members Thought
After having had a lot of trouble plowing through Little Bee by this author I was reluctant to start this one, but the Olympic theme drew me in. I was sucked into this one from the beginning. It is the story of two women cyclists of Olympic caliber who are competitors and friends(sort of). The description of their training and the dedication they have to the sport, is admirable, but at what cost?
This was an alright read--not great, not bad. Gave it a 3-1/2 stars in my reading log. Mainly about 2 women Olympic bike riders and their ups & downs. I liked the other 2 Cleave novels I've read better: Incendiary & Little Bee.

I really enjoyed this book. It was kind of dramatic at times, just like Little Bee, and in the same way, the story was peeled off by layers. I enjoy this way of telling the story, although at times I was questioning whether I should know something. I found the characters very interesting and in the end, you know where each of the girls was coming from. The whole take on motherhood was amazing. I am not going to spoil it, so I will say no more.
