What Members Thought
I was disappointed with this - it has a fairly high rating on goodreads, and sounds like an interesting read, but the execution feels rather maudlin, and the climax (view spoiler) feels somewhat unnecessary. I would have preferred a more streamlined narrative without the various little tragedies on the sideline; much as real life can be complicated, I would have liked the topic of discrimination/ shame to be explored a bit more.
