The edition that I read was a new publication from Penguin Classics and was translated by Ginny Tapley Takemori. This short but heartbreaking and raw novella is an absolute must read.

Reading the translator's note after completing this semi-autobiographical story really gives you pause and makes you appreciate Nosaka as a human being, a brother and a survivor. He tells his story through Seita while weaving in his survivor's guilt seamlessly. ...more
