This book really hit me hard. I read most of it with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat for the Jewish history it contains, is my history. In World War II, in the Polish shtetl (town) of Nasielsk, the Nazis entered in September, 1939. Of the 3,000 Jews that lived there, only 80 survived. My family's hometown was Nesvizh, Poland which was only about 300 miles apart from Nasielsk..
