Nu sunt fana scrierilor japoneze, nu prea le înțeleg stilul și ideea, dar la asta m-a atras cel mai mult coperta și titlul. A fost o lectură ok și deși începutul a fost lent, spre final a reușit sa mă captiveze un pic și să îmi doresc sa aflu ce se întâmplă mai departe. Avem un tânăr și o femeie în vârstă, ale căror drumuri se intersectează. După părerea mea, intriga putea fi mult mai bine dezvoltata. Însă eu cred că merită descoperita.

Good premise but not the best execution. There was an obvious love for food, food making and cherry blossoms. It got more sappy 2/3rds in but not written well enough to move me.
It was annoying that the author kept forgetting details that were mentioned previously in the book, for example, a letter that had writing unfamiliar to the lead character but 70 pages ago he was watching her handwrite something.

It's been ten days since I finished this and ho-hum, there's not all that much that my memory retains. A sort of pleasant story with an unpleasant component of chronic illness and discrimination. Warning: character death. The plot sort of meandered. It had its sweet moments but it never really did get me to care about the characters.
