I'm glad I watched the TV show prior to this, else I wouldn't have forgiven the cliffhanger ending. It's thankfully short but reads like a draft - the plot skeleton is complete but it's not fleshed out well, with some extraneous limbs like the presence of a best friend. The TV show does a better job showing the cat and mouse component and the chemistry between the leads.

Inspiration for the TV series. Was originally written as several short stories and because of this I found it a little disjointed.
The television show is much better than the book. I never thought I'd say such a thing.
