Wish it could have been a full-blown story based around the lives of emigrants and their harrowing journeys to a hopeful better life. Nice paintings.
With few words, scenes are richly painted and common themes vividly brought to life - childhood memories, grandparents and siblings, good neighbors and bustling neighborhoods, change and fear and hope. I am not a parent, but I cried and threw a prayer to the sea also.
Sad, haunting and beautiful, Khaled Hosseini as always could portray the worst thing called war. Inspired by Alan Kurdi, a child who found dead in Mediterranean Sea in 2015, Sea Prayer is short but truthful, with amazing illustration by Dan Williams.
