This. Is. So. Bad. SO BAD.

Every person in this book is just a sick fuck. But that's not why it's bad, it's just why I didn't care about any of them.

True, the thriller part of this is great, it kept me engaged and on my toes. It's a page-turner! But the writing and characterization is dreadful. A big part of Hannah's character is that she is an ambitious career girl, but Torjussen seems to have no idea what an actual career-driven person is like, or even what a career is like.

Hannah's life is upended when her boyfriend Matt disappears. Hannah lives in the Wirral peninsula and is on the fast track for promotion at the company where she works.

Matt doesn't just disappear. He obliterates his presence by taking every single item he owns from her apartment and deleting every photo and text from her computer and phone.
