What Members Thought

A powerful and interesting memoir about a rarely told experience -- that of a childhood steeped in ultraleft politics. Said's parents were leaders in and deeply committed to the Socialist Workers Party throughout his childhood; this had a profound affect on him and his well-being. I found it disappointing that he had little reflection on his current politics and choices, and how those were shaped in opposition to his childhood experiences. Still, a very interesting read.
