I was first introduced to "the modern Greek poets" in college: Cavafy, Seferis, Ritsos, and Kazantzakis. It was a whole new world for me, and it was magical. (The enthusiastic instructor helped, too.) That was a long time ago and I thought it would be nice to revisit. Unfortunately, there was no magic this time.
