Tara Westover was raised by parents who were very anti-government. She received minimal homeschooling, spending more time as a child working in her father's scrap yard. This book is about escaping longterm abuse and gaslighting. I am so glad this was written. It is important to share these kinds of stories with the general public. It speaks for survivors and their loved ones. Hopefully it leads to a greater overall compassion and understanding for why and how this sort of unhealthy dynamic can occur between people who supposedly love one another.
