I read this book for my book club’s bingo card (a book about a Canadian event that you know very little about).
The Boat People is such an eye opening and candid book about the refugee process and their lives as they land on the Canadian soil. The story’s timeline is now with glimpses to the past especially the Sri Lankan civil war, the riots of 1958 and 1983 as well as the Japanese internment in 1942.
