I did not read the kindle edition but read it in paperback.
The First Four Years is the lost Little House book, the one published in its first draft after Laura and Rose have passed. It's written a little differently and it's much shorter than her other books. I would have liked more detail about the first four years of their marriage as it seems like a lot was left out but it explains a lot and their decision to move to Missouri.
