I love history, but sometimes the story is told like a history book instead of the exciting, dramatic and REAL thing that it is. But THIS! What an amazing book! It covered royalty, family drama, both world wars, the Spanish influenza and my favorite--overcoming trials. My heart broke for her on so many occasions, but she had decided early on to make the best of it (whatever IT was). What a stellar read!
