This story was great! I was attracted to it, because I am an ESL teacher to adults myself, but my class has never gotten this interesting - lol! The book tells the story of Nikki, a modern daughter on Indian immigrants, who lives in London, and who decides to take a part-time job teaching English to a group of Punjabi widows. A lovely read. Nikki, a Sikh Muslim trying to live a modern life, moves away from her family and gets a job. She needs more income and so she signs up to teach a creative writing class for women at the Sikh temple. From here several stories unfold.
