I enjoyed this book immensely. Strong women and historical fiction...can't be beat. Turner grabs the reader from chapter one and never lets go. The narrator, Resolute, is ten when she and her older siblings are captured by pirates from their plantation in Jamaica and sold into indentured servitude in colonial Boston. Turner does such a good job of writing Resolute as a ten year old girl who has never known hardship and is, at once, thrown into more hardship and terror than anyone should experien
