Engaging tale of an alternate England where the elite have magical powers and the minions have to serve 10 years of their lives as slaves. Well executed.
Wow, I loved this one! Such an intriguing world and story! Set in an alternate England where people who possess magic/skill rule as Equals and everyone else is sentenced to 10 years of slave labor. Bouncing between an Equal estate and one of the slavetowns, I found each section to be incredibly engaging. Loved the politics, the surprises, just pretty much everything about this one! I've got a few books currently on my TBR, but I'm thinking I need to pick up the sequel to this one pretty quickly!
