Aza and her friend Daisy decide to try to solve the mystery of the disappearance of billionaire Russell Pickett in order to obtain the $100,000 reward. In the process, Aza reconnects with Pickett's son, Davis, who she met as a child after both she and Davis lost parents. Aza is under the care of a psychiatrist for spiraling thoughts, and the relationship she develops with Davis as well as the relationship she has with her long time friend, Daisy, are precarious.

John Green has written another exceptionally good book about teenagers who have problems. In this story, Aza has severe, debilitating anxiety, while her acquaintance and eventual friend Davis is suffering along with his brother, the loss of their billionaire father, who disappeared right before he was to be arrested for fraud and bribery. To be honest I was going to stop reading about half into the book. Main characters are teenagers and I was not sure why I was reading this except that it had great reviews from some of my good reads friends. And then I could not put the book down until I finished it in one sitting. What a great insight into Holmesy’s mind and feelings.

Four stars for the storyline. It wasn't bad but also didn't have too much going on. I also didn't feel connected to any of the characters. Five stars for Green's writing. I love the way he tells a story, I also like how this covered mental illness. It gives you a slight idea what someone with it might be going through and how it effects those around. ...more
